LEAD FACILITATOR REVIEW
Lead Facilitator was amazing! I loved that he treated each kid as an individual and worked with them to support and challenge their skills.
2021 SUMMER CAMP REVIEW
They are more in touch with nature and like teaching what they learned at home. They are more adventurous, and were inspired to do different things they were not used to.
Introduction
Our Summer Arts and Wellness Camp is designed to introduce children ages 5-12 to different art forms inside the studios and outside in nature! Exploring our local landscape, creek, and trails for inspiration and opportunities to discover new materials from nature in the summer! Our campers will engage with nature, art programming and learn wellness practices through our daily gratitude circle, art and mindfulness activities, reflection time, and team-building games.
Participants will learn how to use various mediums inside and outside, and decide on several projects to complete throughout the session both individually and as a group inside and outside the studios.
The Summer Arts & Wellness Camp is fun and educational as we explore another season at Soulspace and the Sage Street Mill! Students will leave with a renewed sense of community, connect with friends, and leave with a strong foundation in fun arts and wellness practices!
Campers will have daily activities and projects. The camp introduces students to the fun of experimentation in arts through drawing and painting, storybook making, making site-specific work in nature, and multi-media art through hands-on project-based learning, and nature exploration along our trails and outdoor space. During the summer camp, we go swimming and on hikes regularly. Our team of dedicated facilitators works with each camper individually and as a group to develop their wellness toolbox through various activities and techniques!
Campers can only choose to participate in full-time enrollment.

I graduated from Bennington College in 2001 with a degree focused on Architecture/Theory Film & Film theory. My first job at 14 years old was working here at the Mill as an IT manager and graphic designer, I also installed and maintained our first "public access" Internet Workstation. Happy to be back!

I'm a student in the 7th-grade class at the North Bennington school. I’m one of those people who always enjoy looking at art and I try to see art in everything, even if it’s not meant to be an art piece.
I love seeing the kids just find the things they enjoy and watching them doing what makes them happy, makes me excited to see what it will become! Especially in nature, it is super fun to see what they come up with and how they decide to make it their own.

Melinda Paquin
Melinda Paquin has joined the Sage Street Mill team!
Melinda was a camper here in 1993 when we first started our arts programming! Now she is a local parent who brings her own children to the mill for arts and wellness camps and special events! Welcome, Melinda!

I've spent my whole life here at The Mill. I love nature, arts, and insects, and I love sharing my knowledge with people around me. I worked as an assistant art teacher at the local VSNB elementary school, and I have also been a counselor for last year's awesome Wellness Camp, I just finished my first year of college at Mass College of Arts and Design, and I'm really excited to be working here! I am really looking forward to exploring and showing the different trails and areas on the property and having a blast finding crayfish and dragonflies and making natural sculptures in the trails with the kids!

Hello! My name is Liah Roy, I have been a North Bennington resident my entire life and used to be a camp member when I was younger! I am currently an attending student at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, studying as a second-year studio art major and minoring in art history. I love to turn anything into artwork and specialize in oil paint and ceramics. One of my favorite activities is walking around the mile-round woods at Park Mccullough and building fairy houses along the trails. I am so excited to meet everyone and am grateful to be part of the Sage Street Mill team!
