About our
After-school Program

New Spring offerings for kids and families! Happy to announce the Spring launch of our 2023 Spring Afterschool Arts & Wellness Club! For your children ages: 6-12. Come join us for outdoor activities, games, hiking, creativity and art-making in Soulspace studios and exploring nature and springtime along our creek and trails! 

​

When: May 23rd - June 16th. 4 week session/days.

 

Meeting Time: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 3-5pm.

 

This unique high quality after school program includes: A flexible structure with fun recreational activities both outdoors on the trails and in the gardens and inside the Soul Space Studios creating art! Time and space for free choice and individual projects , as well as homework, reading and research, for any kids who can benefit from a welcoming, creative, diverse and safe supportive place to do homework after school!

Fee: $50 for a single week, $160 for a 4 week pass.  Include all materials and supplies and healthy after school snacks! Slots are limited to a maximum of 15 kids per week. 

​

Siblings get 10% off with our family discount.

Our programs fill up quickly, so be sure to sign up early and secure your child's spot! Once we receive your completed registration form, we will contact you with confirmation and other info.

Introduction

Soulspace at the Sage Street Mill offers an after-school  studio-based arts and wellness opportunity for kids! Come check it out!

 

Young artists ages 6-12 have a unique opportunity to experience regular weekly access to studio space, and nature trails in order to explore and build their skills, ideas, talents and connect with nature and friends! We encourage our artists to utilize the studio facilities and nature trails, experiment with different mediums, discuss their artwork with others, keep an arts journal, while exploring their personal interests and solo projects, and inspiration from contemporary artists and art movements from all around the world! They will also benefit by receiving individual guidance and kind feedback in all projects.

 

Art Stations include; painting on wood, canvas, paper, molding with clay, drawing, creating sculptures using wood blocks and found objects. New digital station for designing and research! Students will also learn and practice evidence based mindfulness practices and exercises that reduce stress and cultivate joy and wellness integrated into each session.

Programming

 

We provide interactive creative art after school enrichment programming for kids 6-12 years old, that is evidence based and process driven.  This program is set up to provide each child with high quality personal mentorship and studio access through limiting the number of participants to 12 artists per session. Classes are 2 hours long. Each week students will have a chance to relax, make new friends, explore nature in and around the Mill and Village Campus, learn about different artists, art styles, and get to use all different types of art mediums while developing their own personal art portfolios and gratitude journals. Students will also get fun "Daily life observations" worksheets to explore materials, textures, and the beauty surrounding us, in addition to keeping their own portfolio and wellness journal.

Sage Street Mill Founder, Patricia Burke Pedreira, Masters Degree in Art Therapy, International art teacher and educator, Ahmad Yassir and guest artists

Saturday Arts & Wellness Club

Spring Saturday programming in Studio Arts and Wellness for your children ages: 6-13. Taking place inside beautiful Soul Space our special place for Yoga, Art, Wellness activities, and also outside on our nature trails along the creek and more!

 

Duration: Spring 2023: (May  13th - June 16th)

 

Meeting Time: Saturday afternoons 1-4pm! 

Saturdays: May 13, May 20, May 27, June 3, June 10, 2023 Come and explore our epic arts and wellness studios at the Sage Street Mill!

Open to all ages! Children under the age of 6, must be accompanied by a caregiver or family member. Saturday Open Studio is free, but limited to 15 slots each Saturday.

If signing up for Free Open Studio Saturdays Feel Free to make a donation! ($5-$15 Suggested)

Introduction​

Whether you’re a beginner or intermediate artist, The Sage Street Programs has a studio arts and wellness opportunity for you! Our students receive quality studio access and instruction from our talented staff and guest artists.  We give young artists an opportunity to experience having a studio space and practice in order to explore their  ideas, talents and grow new skills through mentoring and hands-on learning while integrating evidence -based wellness practices! 

 

We encourage our artists to experiment with different mediums and found objects, discuss their artwork with others, explore their personal interests and solo projects, discover a joyful process, create an arts and wellness portfolio of work and get inspired by contemporary artists and art movements from all around the world. They will also benefit by receiving individual guidance and mentoring from professional instructors for all projects.

 

Wellness studio includes: Soulspace for creative movement, circles and yoga space; Art Studio includes: Art Stations include; painting on wood, canvas, paper, molding with clay, drawing, creating sculptures using wood blocks and found objects, in addition to getting inspiration from nature through using the space around The Mill and the trails connected to it.

Students will also get fun "Daily life observations" worksheets to explore materials, textures, and the beauty surrounding us, in addition to Artist Biographies, and readings on art movements.
